Location: Room 8M, 8th Floor, Hannibal House, Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre, London SE1 6TE

WHAT WILL BE THE TRAINING ABOUT?

This training course is designed to support your development and ongoing professional learning as an Adult Educator. You will explore your own professional learning needs in response to integrating Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) across the curriculum. The course will provide opportunities to critically analyse the safe, responsible and ethical use of ICT in teaching and learning.

You will implement and reflect on professional development plans including opportunities to coach and mentor others in your areas of strength as models for sustaining your teaching practices.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in Education is a broad and constantly changing subject. This course will prepare teachers to understand, use and apply a range of technologies and platforms in teaching and learning, in line with international standards.

With the changing face of technologies and related application, this course will primarily focus on using technologies for learning ‘how to learn’ to cope with change. It will provide opportunities and understanding to Trainees on how to collaborate with students, educators, peers, parents, and global community using digital tools and resources to support learning, success and innovation.

Course topics include supporting policies and guidelines for ICTs integration, computer-mediated learning, telecommunications and multimedia resources, online teaching and learning, problems of classroom integration, and computer support for professional development and administration.

Teachers-in-training will engage with the design and creation of exciting, intellectually challenging and authentic learning environments in which ICT changes not only what students learn, but also how they learn, as we move forward into the 21st century. Trainees in this course will examine how ICT might be used to both enhance and transform learning.

The evolving world demands changes; and quickly learning competencies. The course is aimed at specifically developing the following competencies in the prospective Trainees:

  • How to make ICT-based lesson plans
  • How to adapt ICT into current curriculum
  • How to make adult learners more eager to use technology in their daily lives

Participants will also work together to create a common curriculum which highly includes ICT on different subjects.

1st Course in Cluj – Inside the course

Hello everybody,

This week (6.02.2017-10.02.2017) all the partners had the pleasure to be in Cluj for the Short-term joint staff training event. The teachers were impressed by what they can do with some basic web tools and enjoyed what they learnt. They learned how to communicate with Slack, they used Google maps to draw a sightseeing map of Cluj and shared with the others, they designed certificates and logos with Canva and they built by their on their website using WordPress.

Besides the course we visit some nice institutions. The visit to the Technological Park had the aim to see how IT professionals work versus how teachers work. While we were there we also visited Impact Hub where freelancers with different professions can work in the same place and exchange their experiences and knowledge. We also found that Impact Hub organize training courses for people in Cluj featuring speakers from different countries around the world using video conferencing software. The Spiru Haret Technological High School UCECOM had a presentation about the school and the adult education center and showed us the courses they have and the laboratories.

The event was finalized with the certification of the participants.
